It’s been quite a week waking up to discover there was no water and that the irrigation guys had drained the well! Welcome to the country! After chasing all the appropriate people the well is back to normal. A wonderful thing is happening this moment. Because of the heavy rains yesterday my guys who come mow the acreage came this morning. It just so happened that I had made way too much pizza. So my guys are sitting on my front porch chowing down on pizza and taking a little break before their next stop. It always makes me so happy to see people enjoying the food that I make. It’s a beautiful thing!

I’ve gotten spoiled and typically don’t care for the grocery store meats. They tend to be bland and tough so most Saturdays I take a trip to the butcher shop. I’ve been reading Bill Buford’s book, Heat, and when the butcher asked me what meats I wanted I thought to myself, “Hmmmm…I think I’ll eat like a Tuscan,” and then blurted out, “I’ll have those two large delicious looking T-Bones!” Life is so much better with a good butcher nearby.

This morning I awoke to another day of spring snow. Hopefully, this will be the last day of snow this spring. Bring on spring I say!

I woke up early this morning to high winds and a snowstorm. My power is out and my Sunday morning is powered by my emergency generator. Good Morning & Happy Sunday!
I was at my apartment in the city throughout the week and came home to a mystery package handed to me by my doorman. I carried the box upstairs to my apartment and opened up this wonderful milk bottle bird house sent to me by angelic friends from Kansas. A couple of years ago they sent a cowboy boot bird house. Spring is finally here and it will be fun to find a place to hang both bird houses now that the landscaping is finished in the back of the property of my Connecticut house. Blessings to spring and blessings to the Baileys.
