Imagine my surprise when I walked past a new food cart in my eastside neighborhood that truly looked delicious.  I stopped and spoke to the man in the truck about the food he was selling.  Where else besides India can you find a food cart that sells Indian, Tibetan and Nepali deliciousness?  New York City of course has a huge food cart scene going on, but honestly many of them are pretty ho hum.  Super clean and super friendly.  When I asked if I could take some photos of the guy in the truck he was so cute and said, “of course.”  He straightened up his collar and got ready for his picture to be taken.

I got a samosa to go which was delicious by the way.  You can get veggie platters or meat platters.  Some of the items on their menu are: Aloo Gobi (Potatoes & Cauliflower), Chicken Vindaloo (Tangy & Spicy Curry From Goa), Palak Paneer (Spinach & Cottage Cheese), Lamb Kofta (Meatballs in Gravy), Vegetable Jalfrezi (Colorful Stir-Fried Mixed Vegetables), Chicken Makhani (Rich & Buttery Chicken), Aloo Mutter (Potatoes & Green Beans), Chicken Tikka Masala (Chicken in a Creamy Tomato Sauce), Bainghan Bhartha (Eggplant), Chicken Kheema (Minced Chicken With Exotic Spices), Tarivale Aloo (Potatoes in Tomato Gravy), Lamb Curry (Lamb in Gravy), Tarival Aloo (Potatoes in Tomato Gravy), Darbari Chicken (Chicken in Bell Pepper Sauce), Bhindi Masal (Okra Stir-Fried Bombay Style), Daal (Lentils), Basmati Rice, Sammosas, Chaat (Snacks Served With Tamarind, Cilantro & Chutney) and Masala Chai (Indian Tea Flavored With Cardomon & Spices).  AND they have Lassis!  Who doesn’t love Lassis?  Whenever I am in India (which is often) I have plenty of Lassis.  Their Lassis come in Strawberry, Mango, Rose, Pineapple, Sweet and Salted.

Their Manhattan location is on East 44th Street and 2nd Ave.  Monday to Friday 11am to 4pm. The phone number is: 646-377-7817.  Their brochure is pretty cute.  It says: “Please call for location as sometimes we have to move.”  Yeah, I’ll bet…it’s New York City after all!
