The flavor of stout enhances the batter of these crispy onion rings.

  • Vegetable Oil For Frying
  • 4 Onions (Peeled And Sliced Thick)
  • 2 Cups Unbleached Flour
  • 1 Pint Stout
  • Kosher Salt For Finishing
  1. In medium-size bowl combine flour and stout to create a batter.
  2. Add vegetable oil in medium-size pot and heat until temperature reaches 350 degrees.
  3. Working in batches, dip sliced onion rings into batter and then into oil.
  4. Fry, flipping once or twice, for about 2 minutes and drain on paper towels.
  5. Transfer to serving platter, finish with kosher salt, and serve immediately.
  6. Serves 4
