I’ve kept this recipe simple, but feel free to add capers, chives, or diced jalapeños when preparing salmon.

  • 1 1/2 Pound Salmon
  • 2 Teaspoons Dijon Mustard
  • 1 Red Onion
  • 1/2 Cup Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1/4 Cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 Teaspoon Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tablespoon Sweet Relish
  • 4 Buns
  • 1 Tomato (Sliced)
  • 1 Head Boston Lettuce
  1. Dice half red onion and slice other half into rings. Set aside. To make tartar sauce, in small-size bowl mix together mayonnaise, lemon juice, and sweet relish.
  2. Place salmon on cutting board, skin side up. Using a sharp knife peel skin away from salmon and throw away. Cut salmon into chunks. Place Dijon mustard, diced red onion, and salmon chunks into food processor. Pulse until salmon becomes pasty. Use spatula to scrape salmon mixture into a bowl. Stir in breadcrumbs. Form into 4 patties.
  3. In large-size heavy skillet heat olive oil. Cook salmon patties 10 minutes. Turn halfway through. Remove from heat and arrange burgers on buns with onion slices, sliced tomatoes, and lettuce. Top with tartar sauce.
