Let guests serve themselves with a pitcher of this simple, make-ahead cocktail. For a holiday twist, garnish with fresh cranberries and orange slices. Try using a fruity Spanish rioja for the most traditional taste.

  • 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Water
  • 4 Oranges (Scrubbed/Divided)
  • 2 Bottles Dry Red Wine
  • 1 Cup Brandy
  • 1 Cup Triple Sec
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 2 Apples (Cored/Diced)
  • Ice (For Serving)
  1. In small-size saucepot, combine sugar and 1/4 cup water. Heat until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool completely. Add to large-size pitcher.
  2. Slice 2 oranges and add to pitcher. Squeeze juice from remaining 2 oranges into pitcher.
  3. Add red wine, brandy, triple sec, cinnamon sticks, and apples to pitcher.
  4. Place in refrigerator and chill until cold.
  5. Serve over ice.
  6. Serves 10
